Becoming parents has been the most beautiful, chaotic, and hilarious rollercoaster ride of our lives. Before the kids, we thought we had patience. After kids, we realized patience has multiple hidden levels much like a video game, and we’re still unlocking them one by one.
Our journey began with sleepless nights, where we mastered the art of functioning on three hours of sleep and a strong cup of coffee. At one point, my husband could change a diaper in under 30 seconds, blindfolded (not intentionally just too tired to keep his eyes open). I, on the other hand, learned to eat with one hand while cradling a crying baby with the other. Who needs a gym when you’re carrying a toddler who refuses to walk, along with three bags of groceries?
As the kids grew, so did our skills. We turned into professional negotiators, convincing little humans about why vegetables are not the enemy and why bedtime is not a punishment. Sometimes, their logic beats ours, and we end up questioning our own rules.
Looking back, what once felt like chaos now feels like cherished memories. The tantrums, the endless questions (“But why, Mama?”), and the crayon masterpieces on the wall have all shaped us into stronger, softer, and yes funnier people.
Parenting hasn’t given us a handbook, but it has given us stories we’ll laugh about forever. And if you ask us now, we wouldn’t trade our sleepless nights and sticky-finger hugs for anything in the world.
