For a long time, I didn’t pay much attention to my daily routine or exercise. Days would pass quickly, and I often felt tired, unmotivated, and distracted. I used to think that physical activity wasn’t necessary for me and that my body could take care of itself. Recently, I decided to make a small change and started incorporating exercise and a structured routine into my daily life. The difference has been remarkable.

Having a routine gives our day structure and purpose. When we know what to do and when, it becomes easier to manage time and responsibilities. It reduces stress, helps us focus better, and gives us a sense of control over our lives. Even small habits, such as waking up at the same time, planning tasks, or setting aside time for physical activity, can make a big difference.

Physical activity is a game-changer. When I started exercising regularly, it didn’t just improve my fitness; it also boosted my mood and mental health. I felt more energetic, productive, and motivated. There is a unique satisfaction in knowing that you are actively taking care of your body. Exercise releases endorphins, the body’s “feel-good” chemicals, which naturally help reduce stress and anxiety. Over time, it became a habit, and now skipping a day feels unusual!

Building a routine doesn’t have to be complicated. Start small:

• Set a consistent wake-up and sleep time.
• Include at least 20–30 minutes of physical activity every day, such as walking,  stretching, or light exercises at home.
• Schedule your tasks in a simple checklist to stay organised.
• Set aside time for relaxation or for discovering and developing your hidden skills.

The benefits go beyond today. Taking care of your body now helps ensure that it will take care of you in the future. Developing healthy routines and exercising regularly build resilience, strength, and overall well-being—qualities we will thank ourselves for as we grow older.

Routine and physical activity are not just about discipline; they are about self-care. They help us feel more in control, happier, and healthier. Starting small and staying consistent is the key. For me, turning these habits into a daily routine has been life-changing, and I hope others can experience the same benefits. This has been my personal journey, and I share it in the hope that it encourages others to start small and experience the positive changes that a healthy routine, mindful eating, and regular physical activity can bring.
