Looking back at my journey at Delhi Private School, Sharjah, I smile at how it all began — with the launch of the Pre-KG classes. At first, it felt like trying to build a spaceship with a toolbox full of crayons! Planning classrooms, setting up learning areas, buying supplies, designing activities, and preparing the curriculum was a whirlwind. FAB Days, Annual Day, and Sports Day added extra excitement (and chaos!) — every day brought either an “aha!” moment or a “how do we do this?” moment.

Training teachers and preparing for tiny learners was challenging, but slowly, everything began to fall into place. Seeing classrooms come alive — children laughing, exploring, and learning – made every glue-stained, sleep-deprived, long-discussion moment worthwhile. My first year, I was both Supervisor and Class Teacher, juggling emails while settling little ones who clung to their parents or resisted nap time. Months later, the same children walked confidently, smiled brightly, and began helping each other – turning early struggles into magical moments.

One unforgettable moment happened after summer break. The corridor displays had been taken down for repainting – and we realized we hadn’t clicked a single picture. Our team stood staring at the blank wall, trying to reconstruct it, when little Rania, one of our Pre-KG stars, walked by.

She looked at us seriously and asked,
“Sanober Ma’am, what are you doing?”

I laughed,
“We’re trying to remember how to fix the wall displays.”

Without missing a beat, with the confidence only a 3½-year-old can carry, she said,
“Why are you thinking so much? Just check the school Instagram. The Annual Day video has everything!”

We froze. And then we all burst out laughing. One tiny learner had solved our problem in a single sentence. That moment showed exactly what Pre-KG does – it nurtures confidence, voice, creativity, and independent thinking.

My journey so far has been filled with learning, leading, training, guiding and most importantly – growing. Delhi Private School, Sharjah is a large school, full of opportunities and surprises – and every day I walk out having learned something new. To me, leadership is not just about guiding others – it is about growing with them. And I am truly grateful for the chance to grow here.
