Leadership in education is not just about guiding others – it’s about embracing the endless journey of learning, exploring new ideas, and inspiring growth in every classroom. My journey at DPS Sharjah has been a testament to this belief. Every day, I learn something new-not just from experiences, but from every individual I interact with.

From the very beginning, my passion for teaching and transforming students’ lives has always been at the forefront—more so than my leadership role. Over the years, I have grown through various responsibilities, and today, as an Academic Supervisor, I truly understand the importance of effective planning and strategic thinking in ensuring the holistic development of our students.

I strongly believe in finding solutions rather than focusing on flaws. Challenges will always come our way, but what matters most is how we respond: by correcting, improving, and moving forward.

One of the most defining moments in my career came during the COVID-19 pandemic. I vividly remember my first online class, where I had to teach differentiation. For the first time, I felt helpless-I couldn’t write on the board or explain concepts the way I was used to. Panic set in, but instead of giving up, I acted. That very day, I purchased a tablet to enable digital writing. In my second online class, I experienced an immense sense of relief and achievement as I could write and explain again. Teaching Math without showing the steps is next to impossible.

Thanks to DPS Sharjah, within no time, all teachers were equipped with tablets, ensuring smooth teaching experiences. As an HOD, I was able to lead my department through this transition to digital platforms by fostering collaboration and encouraging everyone to learn and share new techniques. Attending numerous CPD sessions during this period made us not only better educators but also enthusiastic learners and capable leaders.

Looking back, those were days of uncertainty, but also of incredible learning. We adapted, we innovated, and we faced challenges with confidence. That experience taught me that true leadership lies in resilience, continuous learning, and embracing change wholeheartedly.

Empower minds, embrace change, keep learning, and lead with unwavering commitment. This is the mantra that drives me every day at DPS Sharjah.
