“Learning is a journey that never truly ends—it evolves with every experience.”

Coming from a family of achievers—engineers, a Ph.D. gold medallist, bakers, and fashion designers—I always felt both inspired and challenged to create my own path. My parents, however, never pushed me to follow a set formula for success. Instead, they stood beside me, encouraging me to listen to my heart and follow what truly sparked my curiosity. That’s how I chose Accounting—a decision that marked the beginning of my own story.

School life, for me, has always been more than lessons and exams. It’s where we build friendships, discover our strengths, and learn the values that guide us through life. The world our students face today is dynamic and fast-changing. Opportunities are endless, yet confusion often shadows them. I see so many young minds standing at crossroads, eager to move forward but unsure of which direction to take. That’s why my motto has always been: “What I know today, my students should know now.” knowledge grows only when it is shared—and teaching gives me that beautiful chance every single day.

I still remember the day I joined Delhi Private School in 2012. It felt like stepping into a new chapter, full of possibilities. Teaching Accountancy to senior secondary students is a rewarding blend of challenge, curiosity, and unexpected brilliance. Every class unfolds with its own rhythm, but group discussions often bring out the best in learners.

During last year’s session, as part of the case study that required students to identify assets, liabilities, and other key financial elements. The objective was simple: think critically, analyse independently, and present findings confidently.

As always, they rose to the task—but this time with an unforgettable twist. After completing their analysis, one group proudly presented a journal entry that read:

“Our Love & Gratitude (Ms Bhawna) A/c Dr
  To Long-Term Liability A/c”

(“Being the amount transferred from ‘Our Love & Gratitude Account to Long-Term Liability Account as part of reorganizing balances.”)

It was a creative, light-hearted moment that showcased not just their understanding of the format of journal entries, but also their comfort and engagement with the subject. Moments like these remind me that teaching is not limited to imparting concepts; it is about building relationships, nurturing confidence, and creating a space where students feel free to express themselves.

Over the years, my journey from teacher to Supervisor has been nothing short of transformative. I’ve learned that true leadership isn’t about authority—it’s about patience, compassion, and perseverance. Each day brings new challenges: balancing responsibilities, nurturing discipline, and fostering collaboration. But with every challenge comes growth, and with every experience, a new lesson learned.

Today, as I look back, I don’t just see a career—I see a purpose. A purpose built on learning, teaching, and evolving. Every student I’ve taught, every conversation I’ve had, every step I’ve taken has reaffirmed one simple truth: Learning never ends—it simply takes new forms, new faces, and new meanings along the way.
