When I became a parent, I imagined magical moments, picture-perfect smiles, and heartfelt cuddles. What I didn’t imagine was running on five hours of sleep, reheating the same cup of coffee three times, and celebrating things like “everyone left the house on time.” Welcome to my parenting journey!

In the early years, life revolved around feeding schedules, school bags, and answering a never-ending stream of “why” questions-some of which even Google couldn’t help with. I learned quickly that parenting requires multitasking skills worthy of a superhero: cooking while supervising homework, locating lost socks with detective-level focus, and calming emotional storms over broken crayons.

As kids are growing, so are my responsibilities- and my vocabulary. Phrases like “because I said so”, “finish your food”, and “screen time is over” became part of daily conversation. From school stories to big questions about life, my kids constantly surprise me with their curiosity and honesty. They teach me patience, empathy, and the art of letting go of control (a work in progress!).

Of course, there are challenging days when I question my parenting skills. But there are also beautiful moments-shared laughter, warm hugs, and proud smiles after small achievements- that make every “test” worth it. This journey may be unpredictable, exhausting, and occasionally overwhelming, but it is also filled with love, growth, and joy. And while I may not score full marks every day, I show up-and that’s the real win.
