Of my three, it often feels as though each was cut from an entirely different fabric – distinct in their own way woven together into one beautiful piece by their schooling.

My eldest has always been the scholar – ever drawn to her books, buried in her writing, grounded in her studies. I’ve never had to remind her about homework or exams; it’s as if she was born knowing to be the perfect student. My second, on the other hand, lives for movement and expression. If by some miracle the basketball ever left her hands; it was only so she could find her way onto a stage, dancing.
And then there’s my youngest – still in school, but already a whirlwind of both. He writes; he runs; he speaks – his words flow as naturally as if public speaking were his mother tongue.

Each of them so different, and yet each has found their own path to leadership – as President of the Editorial Board, President of the Student Council, and President of the Primary Wing Editorial, respectively. That shared sense of responsibility and self-assurance, I believe, stems directly from their schooling.

There are values that a home can nurture – kindness, discipline, compassion – but there are others that only a healthy school environment can instill – teamwork, independence, confidence. For my children, Delhi Private School, Sharjah has been their second home – a place that not only shaped their minds but also their sense of self. And for that, I couldn’t imagine a better foundation.
