The turning point started with his admission itself with DPS. At the age of 3 years, Aman knew how to ‘manage’ interview, and he meticulously responded to all the questions, though he made some silly mistakes.
He was just like any other kid with full of excitement to start his school days, but then he turned out to be a quiet, observant type – he would listen, learn and score good marks but not very active in answering questions on time and he never had any intention or passion to outsmart others. Yet, as he progressed, the silent boy became so naughty and a chatterbox! loudly talking to his friends, getting complains from teachers… and class teacher used to change his seats quite often to make him more focused on classes! He had this unusual habit of blaming his mom if he lost even single mark in exams..!
Guess who took the heat!!
Then came gaming craze..!! Aman got hooked, spending 5-6 hour – or more – glued to the screen. For a while, it was like we were losing him to the virtual world of games – stuck in his room, barely coming out ……
Praise the pitch..!! Aman switched gears big time- moving from virtual world to real sports like football, basketball etc. that was a great relief for the family and a good health for Aman..!
Bonding with his friends: By the time he was in grade 9, he had a team of loyal friends and we, as parents have seen his loyalty and he will go extra mile for his friends – no questions asked! Though he was busy to us, he makes time for friends. That’s some solid bonding!
Over a period, Aman developed very good bonding with his teachers too – with special bond with some of his favorite teachers Guess that ‘silent boy’ made an impression…!
Grade 10 threw a surprise: Aman scored 96.6% in his grade 10 board exam. We knew he could get more than that, but considering his laid-back approach to reading, we were bit worried though!
As Aman grew older, he started doing things his way. Convinced he knew what was best for him and took decisions on his own – with little help from us. Having said that, Aman turned out to be a truly self-made individual who knew what exactly he wanted for his future.
Kudos to the DPS team for shaping him into the person he is today.
