The Data Science students of grade 12 enthusiastically participated in a flipped classroom session that focused on the employability skill topics of Green Jobs and Entrepreneurship Skills. In this innovative learning method, students took charge of exploring the topics beforehand and transformed classroom learning into an interactive and engaging experience.

They created visually rich presentations that blended theory with creativity — using animations, infographics, and graphs to explain how sustainable careers and entrepreneurship can influence the future. The students also designed Kahoot quizzes, making the session lively and participatory, while testing their peers’ understanding in a fun and competitive way.

To make the topics more relatable, they shared real-life examples of successful entrepreneurs who integrated green skills into their ventures — such as Elon Musk promoting clean energy through Tesla and Boyan Slat addressing ocean pollution through The Ocean Cleanup Project and showcasing innovation-driven entrepreneurship. These examples inspired students to think about how sustainability and innovation can go hand in hand. They also were themselves inspired to be young entrepreneurs.

The session had a remarkable impact on the class. Students became more confident presenters, improved their teamwork and communication skills, and developed a deeper appreciation for how green jobs and entrepreneurship contribute to a sustainable future. The flipped classroom truly transformed them from passive learners into engaged, forward-thinking professionals ready to embrace real-world challenges. The flipped classroom truly turned learners into leaders, bridging academic learning with real-world relevance.

To conclude, what began as a purely theoretical topic turned into an engaging, practical, and visually stimulating experience. Through creative presentations, interactive quizzes, and real-world connections, students proved that learning can be both educational and exciting when approached with curiosity and innovation.
