Today, my child taught me something I didn’t realize I was forgetting.
I was so busy in my daily routine – scrolling on my phone, chatting, cooking, and managing everything – that I didn’t notice how much time was slipping away from the most important person in my life. In her own simple way, she kept asking me to play, to sit with her, to just be present. That’s when it hit me – I wasn’t giving her the time she truly needed.
That day, I made a conscious choice to pause everything else. I stepped away from my phone and responsibilities, and I chose her. We went cycling together, read stories, and spent time drawing and laughing. It was nothing extraordinary, yet it felt so special. In those small moments, I saw pure happiness in her eyes – and surprisingly, I felt it within myself too.
I realized how these simple activities brought me peace, made me feel lighter, healthier, and completely stress-free. It wasn’t just her who needed that time – it was me as well. Sometimes, children don’t need big things. They just need us – our time, our presence, and our attention. Today, I learned that being truly present is the greatest gift we can give our children… and ourselves.
