Watching my son grow at DPS Sharjah has been one of the most beautiful and rewarding experiences of my life as a parent. When he first joined the school, there was excitement, curiosity, and, of course, a little nervousness. Looking back, I realise that the little boy who walked into school with so many questions has grown into a confident young man with even more answers!

One thing that came up at almost every PTM was that teachers had one observation in common: he was “very talkative.” Despite being a good student and actively participating in school activities, he simply had a lot to say and even more questions to ask! From a young age, his curiosity seemed endless. There was always a “Why?”, “How?”, or “What if?” waiting around the corner.

At the time, we sometimes wondered if his talkativeness would ever slow down. It certainly hasn’t! But today, when we ask him a question, we often receive an explanation so detailed and extraordinary that we find ourselves wondering, “Did we ask a simple question or start a lecture?” What was once a small PTM complaint has become something we truly value. His curiosity, communication skills, and ability to express his thoughts have become some of his greatest strengths.

Another memorable moment came when he was selected to speak at a school programme during his early years. Unfortunately, he developed a fever and missed the opportunity, which was then given to another student. He was genuinely disappointed. Later, in a higher grade, the school gave him another opportunity to speak on stage. That experience gave his confidence an incredible boost. Today, he takes the stage with such enthusiasm that it is hard to believe he was once the boy who missed his first opportunity!

His journey at DPS Sharjah has taught him much more than academics. He has developed confidence, kindness, teamwork, responsibility, and perseverance—and, most importantly, learned to believe in himself.

As a parent, I am grateful to the teachers who looked beyond the “talkative child” and recognised the curious, expressive, and confident person he was becoming. Watching that transformation has been one of our greatest joys. And yes, he still has plenty of questions!
